2012 Workplace Warriors

In 2007, the Disability Management Employer Coalition (DMEC) convened its Workplace Warrior Think Tank to explore how employers can respond to the military deployment and reintegration of employees serving their country. The resulting white paper was a call to action on how to support reservists and National Guard members who left the workforce for the war zone — the largest deployment of citizen soldiers since World War II.

Five years later, DMEC is revisiting this issue to identify the lessons learned and progress made in reintegrating workplace warriors and recruiting those leaving the full-time military for jobs in the civilian workforce.
