The longer your career as an absence management professional, the more you hear about potential misuse of intermittent Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave.
Whether it’s an employee with a Friday/Monday pattern posting their whereabouts on social media while out on FMLA or a spike in usage once an employee’s FMLA time bank is regained, you have likely been presented with specific cases by a Human Resources (HR) colleague or the employee’s manager. As an employer, you’re entitled to investigate.
