A recent Gallup survey found that only 32% of all employees in the American workforce are engaged in their jobs.¹ This suggests that the historic employee value proposition is dissolving. In fact, a recent study found that two-thirds of employees feel overwhelmed as their sense of work life balance has been lost.² Millennials note they want creative work, but all of the generations are seeking work that is less punishing and more meaningful.
