Among more than 21 million military veterans in the United States, approximately 2.1 million have served in Iraq and Afghanistan since September 11, 2001.1 Almost 700,000 of those were members of the National Guard and Reserve. The Department of Defense estimates that 250,000 soldiers, sailors, marines, and air personnel will transition out of the military every year for the next five years.

This represents a great opportunity for companies to advance their workforce through military talent, since hiring veterans comes with a competitive advantage. Veterans leave the military with discipline, ability to lead, and passion for service that they bring into your company culture.
