At Sedgwick, Scotty supports workers’ compensation operations by focusing on the continued development of best practices. He ensures that all claims are administered in accordance with best practices and in full compliance with legal, regulatory and jurisdictional requirements while building legislative and regulatory relationships in the workers' compensation arena. Scotty brings operational know-how and regulatory and compliance expertise across multiple jurisdictions. With nearly 30 years of industry experience, he has spent time working for insurance carriers and third-party administrators. Before entering the insurance industry, Scotty served as a platoon commander in the U.S. Marine Corps. He holds a bachelor’s degree from North Texas State University and the ARM and AIC professional designations.

Megan Holstein, JD

At FINEOS, Megan focuses on operationalizing the law, using project management techniques and business acumen to create compliant, but workable solutions, converting legal rules into software and/or process requirements. Ms. Holstein has extensive experience focusing on the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and their state and local law equivalents, as well as disability, paid sick leave, and family leave benefits, including ERISA as it pertains to short- and long-term disability plans and statutory disability and paid family leave. Ms. Holstein’s background also includes employment law counselling matters such DOL audit assistance, defense of EEOC and workplace discrimination claims, manager and employment law training and workplace investigation. 

Don Lipsy

Don Lipsy is a manager in the managed care specialty products division of Sedgwick. Specializing in pharmacy and utilization review (UR), Don has over a decade of experience in the design and implementation of pharmacy and UR solutions specific to workers’ compensation, as well as special expertise in government advocacy efforts related to these areas. A graduate of the University of San Diego School Of Law, Don spent several years defending California State hospitals and doctors in medical malpractice and toxic tort litigation. Following that experience, Don chose to leave practice and enter the world of workers’ compensation, specializing in regulatory compliance, research, and advocacy.
