Having employees out on leave may feel like a crisis to supervisors. But these workers are focused on their own personal crises, not on the mechanics of taking a leave. It may be a crippling migraine headache, a dependent child facing an unplanned emergency surgery, or a difficult round of physical therapy while recovering from a car collision, but each leave comes with stressors of its own.
