Technology Considerations for Employers

More employers are implementing technology solutions to manage the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), other leaves of absence, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations. In fact, 60% of employers with more than 5,000 employees use technology to support these processes, with greater utilization as employer size increases.1

When evaluating technology options, start with two nonnegotiables — compliance and data security — both of which should be considered the bare minimum for moving forward with a vendor. Once those items are assessed, consider other important criteria such as automation, data, analytics, and whether the technology is employee centric, scalable, and adaptable.
