The DMEC Chapter Merit Program (CHAMP) aims to recognize the strengths and achievements of individual local chapters as they develop and deliver programming and events. Each year, chapters are evaluated on three levels of performance. Chapters with high scores in one or more areas are recognized with Merit, Distinction, or Excellence awards. Awards are given out for the previous year at the DMEC Annual Conference.
The three areas of performance, include:
- Chapter Satisfaction: Rated on a scale of 1-10 by chapter participants
- Education & Networking: Totals are calculated by the number of events held, programming hours provided, number of registrants, and number of registrants per programming hour
- Board Leadership: Based on national event promotion, board development, and financial reporting
