After the unexpected events of 2020, 2021 has been anything but predictable. As the year began, vaccines were rolling out and mask mandates eventually started to lift. Many employers, in the wake of these things and declining COVID-19 infection rates, began planning to return employees to the office. It looked like a return to something resembling normalcy. But by mid-year, the Delta variant and stalling of vaccine progress caused employers to rethink some of these plans. In fact, employers who previously recommended the vaccine are now requiring it. Many employees, however, have requested to continue working from home, and many have asked to be exempted from the vaccine requirement.
This session covered how employers are handling these types of accommodation requests, the latest regulatory information, and a sneak peek at what may lie ahead in 2022.
