In this webinar, we dove into the complexities of multiple state paid family and medical leave laws (PFML) laws, presenting a series of case studies that reveal the substantial differences in employee outcomes based on location. We began by comparing some of the key differences across the states, including eligibility assessments, entitlement calculations, benefit years, waiting periods, and extensions for pregnancy reasons. We will also look within each state to consider how the states’ unpaid and paid programs differ, which can result in longer than expected entitlements for employees. Finally, we will examine how the states differ in their integration of paid time off (PTO) and short-term disability (STD) and the impact on payment structures.
This webinar will provide valuable multi-state resource guides — equipping attendees with the knowledge essential for making informed decisions in a landscape of complex state PFML programs.
