Overview
According to the 2019 DMEC Employer Leave Management Survey, training supervisors and managers ranks as the top challenge for employers of all sizes and industries. In addition, the Department of Labor cites supervisor training as a top area of non-compliance for employers.
To address this critical area of concern, DMEC offers FMLA/ADA Training for Supervisors and Managers. This online training subscription is intended to provide front-line managers and supervisors with high-level information about how to identify a potential Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) request by an employee and offer insight into the employee’s rights and responsibilities once an event has been identified.

What’s Included
The training program includes a pre-recorded, 25-minute animated video that walks through the necessary information a supervisor needs to know about the FMLA and the ADA. By the end of the video, managers will come away with a foundational understanding of the company’s responsibilities as well as their own responsibility as a supervisor. They will be able to recognize when and to whom the laws apply and be able to direct employees appropriately.
Following the video is a 10-question quiz to test knowledge. Upon successful completion of the video and quiz, supervisors and managers will be awarded a certificate of completion. Two downloadable PDF roadmaps for the FMLA and the ADA are included as additional resources for supervisors and managers to refer to when a potential FMLA or ADA request is made.
Pricing & Delivery
DMEC’s FMLA/ADA Training for Supervisors and Managers is intended to be an annual training, similar to other compliance training programs such as anti-harassment and diversity/inclusion. It is an ideal solution for organizations of all sizes. Subscription pricing is based on the total number of U.S. employees in the organization, and discounts are available to DMEC organizational members.
New Format Available
DMEC’s FMLA and ADA Training for Supervisors and Mangers is now available in a new format! DMEC is offering the option to purchase this training packaged in a SCORM file for delivery through your organization’s learning management system. Learn more about this one-time purchase option.
Initial registration for the subscription must be handled by one designated “subscription contact person”. The subscription contact person will be responsible for distributing registration information to supervisors and managers of the organization once the subscription has been purchased.

Customized Landing Page
The ability to purchase a company-specific training landing page is available for an additional fee. This option will allow a company’s supervisors and managers to enter the training course through a landing page that includes the organization’s logo and a customized introduction to the organization’s FMLA and ADA processes.
The introductory paragraph can include information such as who administers these programs, the administrator’s contact information, website or intranet links, and any additional requirements for employees who might utilize the benefits of these programs (i.e., concurrent utilization of remaining vacation/sick/PTO time). Please note: We encourage you to keep this introductory information as evergreen as possible.

Tracking & Reports
In addition to issuing downloadable certificates of completion for supervisors and managers who have successfully completed the course, DMEC will enable the subscription contact person to review tracking reports throughout the year to manage progress for supervisors and managers.
It will be the responsibility of the subscription contact person to download and manage reports for the organization. DMEC will not provide on-demand or customized reports. Instructions for accessing reports will be sent to the subscription contact person once the subscription is purchased and activated.
