2026 Regional Compliance Webinar: Midwest Region Update

The compliance landscape surrounding absence and disability management is changing at a dizzying pace. DMEC’s annual compliance update webinar series is intended to help employers who might be struggling to keep up with the changes impacting their organizations. Each session in this five-part series focuses on a different region of the United States — bringing you the latest developments in circuit court decisions, legislative updates, leave and accommodation guidance, and other critical compliance news.

This webinar will cover content specific to the midwestern region of the United States: Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, Arkansas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Kentucky, and Tennessee (6th, 7th, and 8th circuit courts).

Corey Donovan Tracey is a principal in the Cleveland, Ohio, office of Jackson Lewis P.C.

Corey counsels management across a broad spectrum of labor and employment law issues arising from all aspects of the employment relationship impacting both multistate and local employers. She is particularly knowledgeable about the manufacturing (including food and beverage manufacturing) and automotive industries, although her clients span a range of many different industries. Corey prides herself on taking the time to learn and understand her clients’ business needs and goals to ensure that her advice offers creative and practical solutions to best fit their needs while at the same time supporting compliant employment practices to avoid litigation.

Corey is also an experienced and engaging trainer. subjected to U.S. Department of Labor audits of Family and Medical Leave Act policies and practices. Corey’s advocacy on behalf of clients also extends to defending employers in employment litigation, including actions involving sexual harassment; discrimination on the basis of sex, age, race, religion, national origin, and disability; wrongful termination; breach of contract; and various other claims.

Sarah J. Gasperini is a principal in the Chicago, Illinois, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. She represents management exclusively in a variety of employment and labor law matters before state and federal courts and agencies.
On the labor side, Sarah advises employers in defending union organizing campaigns, unfair labor practices, and representation cases. She also assists employers in maintaining union-free workplaces and counsels them in successfully preserving union-free status. In addition, Sarah advises employers on labor contract administration issues and collective bargaining. She has briefed petitions for review of National Labor Relations Board decisions before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and defended 10(j) injunction proceedings in district court.
Sarah also counsels clients on several areas of employment law, including employee handbooks; discrimination and harassment based on race, color, sex, age, religion, national origin, and disability; disability accommodations; and retaliation, including retaliatory discharge.
While attending law school, Sarah worked as a law clerk with the Chicago office of Jackson Lewis, where she assisted in a variety of matters, including preparing cases for arbitration, researching legal issues, and defending administrative charges.
