2026 Regional Compliance Webinar: Northeast Region Update

The compliance landscape surrounding absence and disability management is changing at a dizzying pace. DMEC’s annual compliance update webinar series is intended to help employers who might be struggling to keep up with the changes impacting their organizations. Each session in this series focuses on a different region of the United States — bringing you the latest developments in circuit court decisions, legislative updates, leave and accommodation guidance, and other critical compliance news.

This part of the webinar series will cover content specific to the northeastern regional of the United States: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware (1st, 2nd, and 3rd circuit courts).

Jennifer Bologna

Jenifer Bologna is a principal in the White Plains, New York, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. She focuses much of her practice on helping multi-state employers develop compliance solutions, policies, and practices that are lawful across the jurisdictions in which they operate.
Jenifer specializes in preventative advice and counsel on a nationwide basis, regularly advising clients on multi-state employment law issues related to an increasingly remote and hybrid workforce. She also assists employers in navigating the complex and evolving body of federal, state, and local leave, accommodation, and benefits laws that affect employees who are injured or ill, have family caregiving responsibilities, or require time to bond with children.
Drawing on her extensive counseling experience, Jenifer provides nuanced guidance that helps employers address both the legal and business challenges posed by varying workplace employment laws. Through creative legal strategies and practical advice, she helps clients navigate complex issues that often require individualized solutions.
Jenifer’s goal is to minimize litigation risk by working with employers to implement preventative strategies and practical solutions. She regularly assists clients with policy and process development, including absence management and accommodation protocols, as well as multi-state employment policies. Recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to compliance, she works closely with employers to develop strategies tailored to their specific needs.
In addition to her counseling practice, Jenifer frequently speaks on disability and absence management issues and employment law compliance. She also regularly conducts workplace training on these topics.
While attending law school, Jenifer served as an editor of the Law Review.
Arin Liebman

Arin Liebman is of counsel in the White Plains, New York, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. She partners closely with national and local clients to advise on challenging workplace law issues, providing strategic guidance to help employers achieve business objectives while maintaining legal compliance.
Drawing on her prior experience as in-house employment counsel for a global law firm, Arin brings a practical, business-focused perspective to every matter, informed by a strong understanding of operational realities. She collaborates with employers to address complex leave and accommodation management issues, including compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and state and local leave laws. She also helps employers develop tailored handbooks and workplace policies that meet multi-jurisdictional requirements.
Her practice includes advising on hiring and onboarding, employee discipline, and terminations. Delivering training to support policy implementation and legal compliance is also an important component of her work. In addition, Arin conducts workplace investigations and represents employers in responding to charges filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and other administrative agencies.
In her free time, Arin enjoys exploring Fairfield County, Connecticut, with her family, where they call home.
