Yes, we have seen an increase in the request for mental health IMEs. Of interest is that this type of IME is the second most requested in the disability arena. A psychological IME typically includes in-person interviews and covers medical, family, personal, education, military, work history, and discussion of the inciting event. This is normally accompanied by a full battery of neuropsychological testing with multiple embedded validity factors such as:
- MMPI-2 (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory)
- CAPS-5 (Clinician Administered Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Scale for DSM-5)
- PCL-5 (Post-traumatic Stress Disorder Checklist for DSM-5)
- PCL-5 (Post-traumatic Stress Disorder Checklist for DSM-5)
