DMEC Hosts First-Ever Virtual Annual Conference

During the month of August, DMEC hosted the 2020 DMEC Virtual Annual Conference. The coronavirus and its implications for employers continue to be at the forefront of everyone’s minds, and this year’s virtual conference focused on the theme of COVID-19: The Post-Pandemic Workforce.

Over the course of the event, expert speakers guided attendees through returning employees to the workplace, supporting workplace mental health, navigating the new legal landscape, and considerations for operating in the post-pandemic future.

Temperature checks, symptom surveys, partitions, socially-distanced workstations, company-provided face masks and hand sanitizer, touchless dispensers, and anti-microbial film on high-touch areas were some of the safety measures in use. But to ensure employees feel comfortable returning and managers know how to address issues that arise, ongoing and detailed communication and training is key.
