COVID-19 has prompted federal agencies as well as state, city, and county lawmakers to adopt extensive requirements to ensure workplace safety — significantly expanding compliance mandates on many employers.

Worksite Safety

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has adopted new requirements and recommendations related to workplace safety. These include:

  • Installing dividers, one-way aisles, and limiting occupancy to ensure physical distancing
  • Creating written COVID-19 prevention and response programs
  • Supplying personal protective equipment such as face masks and hand sanitizer
  • Conducting extra cleaning and sanitizing protocols
  • Conducting daily health and temperature screenings
  • Maintaining records and reports of COVID-19 workplace cases
